It’s Wednesday Bucket peeps which means we’re halfway to the weekend! Today we’re looking at some fun-having we can do this Friday in each of Bucket’s home cities.
In Columbia, we suggest starting your Friday night unwinding at Rose Music Hall happy hour
from 5-7. There will be free live music and Pepe’s Tacos if you’re hungry!
Your next stop should be the North Village Arts District for First Friday from 6-9. Some
galleries to make sure you check out along the way are the ARTlandish gallery, Orr Street
Studios and the Sager Braudis Gallery.
If you’re needing a little evening pick me up, head over to Fretboard coffee for some more live
music and coffee, or try their signature honey lavender lemonade.
Kansas City is hosting a whole evening of free fun this Friday at the Crown Center from 6-11:30. The Zeros will be starting the festivities off playing 80’s throwback hits so you can sing along and relax after your long work week.
The original Mama Mia! will begin at 9:00, offering more sing along opportunities and an
unavoidable mood boost. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the food trucks and warm summer night in the city.
If you’re feeling like a drink to cap off the night, you should stop by Green Lady Lounge, only a
four minute drive from the Crown Center. The lounge stays open until 3 a.m. and features live
music and retro vibes every night.
In Des Moines, we suggest checking out Dumpling Darling in East Village this Friday. They
opened their doors only last week and are offering a wide variety of dumplings, bao and Korean-style dishes.
After getting your fill, head over to Black Cat Ice Cream, a short 5 minute drive away. Black Cat
has been named the best ice cream in the state, offering unique flavors that change daily. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy your ice cream while strolling through the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.
To add an upbeat note to your night, the Des Moines Social Club is hosting a New Orleans Jazz
Party from 5:30-7 for only $7.00!
We hope these suggestions give you something to look forward to this Friday! And don’t forget, if you decide to drink make sure you get a safe ride home!
